All guides

The Google Chat integration delivers arrival direct messages in Google Chat. There are no manual IDs to collect — hosts are matched by the Google-verified email on their Chat account.

Get hosts connected

  1. Each host opens Google Chat, finds the Just Arrived app and sends it any message — “hi” is enough.
  2. That message registers an installation, which we match to the employee with the same Google-verified email address.
  3. The Integrations page shows Installations and Matched hosts so you can verify everyone is linked. Unmatched installations can be linked to an employee by hand.
  4. Switch on the Google Chat toggle for each host on the People page.

Self-hosted credentials

If your organization prefers its own Google Cloud setup, a platform administrator can configure your own GCP project number and service account key on the Integrations page. Credentials are stored encrypted and server-only, and messages are sent through your own registration. The matching flow stays exactly the same for your hosts.

Installations exist but no one matched? The person's Google Chat email doesn't correspond to any employee email. Fix the email on the People page, or link the installation manually from the Google Chat card.

Once connected, arrival DMs include the visitor's name, company and office, and the card shows when the last message was delivered.
