All guides

A reception display is a paired screen that shows information instead of collecting check-ins. Displays are free — they never count towards the billable device total, no matter how many you run.

The rule of thumb: anything visitors check in with counts as a device; screens that only show information are free. So an office with QR check-in enabled bills as one device — even with no kiosk at all — while displays stay free either way. No site ever pays for more than three devices.

Pair a display

  1. Open Offices, pick the office, and go to the Devices tab.
  2. Choose Add a device, name the screen and set the type to Reception display · free, then Create code.
  3. On the screen itself, open justarrived.io/kiosk in a browser and type the eight-character code — exactly like pairing a kiosk.

Front-facing or internal

Each display runs in one of two modes, switchable from its card in the Devices tab:

Front-facing welcome is what visitors see in the lobby: your branding and welcome text, a check-in QR code, the list of expected guests and live host replies. Internal stats is for staff areas: who is on site now, today's visitors, expected arrivals and the busiest hours.

Templates and design

Displays use the same full-screen designer as kiosks. The template library ships with ten front-facing and ten internal built-in designs — pick one as a starting point, adjust text, colors and media, and save it to your own template library. Every template works in both landscape and portrait, respects your organization's branding (logo, colors, typeface) and degrades gracefully when no logo or photo is uploaded.

Kiosk templates and display templates are separate — a display can only apply display templates and vice versa. A per-device design override lets one screen differ from the rest of the office.
